Tips and Hints for Taking a Great Photo
We asked the photo experts, Fujifilm, for their recommendations about what makes a great Treasures Cover Baby search entry.
Don't forget to include a pack of Treasures nappies in your shot to be eligible for entry!
Positioning
Use a simple background such as a light wall or an uncluttered setting. This will place the emphasis and focus on your child. Move in closer, and get down to your child's level, to create a more intimate image.
Practice
Remember, once you have uploaded your photo and submitted your entry you cannot change it. So practice before you enter to get that perfect shot!
Perspective
Experiment with perspective. Get close to your child, change your angle, crouch low or stand up high to see the different effect this creates.
Lighting
Think about lighting - you can use the flash in high light and low light settings. See what produces the clearest results.
Macro Mode
Using Macro Mode on your camera produces clean, crisp shots without having to zoom-in. Just move your camera closer to your child, press the shutter half way to focus and then fully take the picture.

When uploading your baby's photo, you can move it around and zoom in and out to make it fit perfectly within our cover layout.
Protect them
Take the time to protect your photos:
- Digital pictures that are not properly backed-up or printed will likely be lost!
- Poor quality prints may get damaged, or deteriorate quicker, than good quality digital prints from a professional
- Keeping digital pictures on your memory card, USB or computer may be convenient but this does not protect them from unexpected damage
